What happens when one NJ traffic stop produces multiple tickets?

Inventory every summons first
Record the statute, description, court, date and complaint number from every ticket. One stop may produce speeding, careless driving, document, license, equipment, insurance or other allegations, each with its own required proof and possible consequences.
- Check the MVC point value for each charged statute.
- Separate court fines from points, surcharges, suspension exposure and insurance effects.
- Identify which tickets require documents such as a license, registration or insurance record.
- For a CDL holder, test each proposed conviction against separate commercial-license rules.
A proposed resolution must be read across the whole set
A prosecutor proposal may address several charges, but no charge should be assumed dismissed, merged or amended unless the disposition actually says so and the judge approves it. Counsel explains the combined terms and consequences; the client approves or rejects the proposal.
