Pennsylvania Magisterial District Court is where most people have their first (and hopefully only) contact with the court system.  The Court litigates ALL TRAFFIC TICKETS, NON-TRAFFIC CITATIONS, and SUMMARY OFFENSES.  If you have been charged with a Misdemeanor, Felony or DUI your only contact with the Magisterial District Court is for your preliminary hearing.  After that, your case is heard at the Court of Common Pleas and prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Office.

Therefore, if you receive any traffic violation, non-traffic citation and/or a summary offense in Pennsylvania, your case will be heard in Magisterial District Court .

Traffic  Violations

Typically you must respond to a traffic citation within 10 days after receiving it.  That means you must either pay it or plea “Not Guilty” within that time frame.  If you do not you risk a warrant being issued.  If you received a traffic ticket in Pennsylvania we will have one out of our team of lawyers, who is familiar with that particular court, who has been there before, represent you. The firm has defended thousands and thousands of satisfied clients.

Non-Traffic Citations

Non-traffic citations include disorderly conduct, underage drinking, harassment, criminal mischief and first offense shoplifting.  A conviction of a Non-Traffic Citation is punishable by no more than 90 days in jail and/or a fine generally not more than $300 (more in some cases).  A lot of people think these offenses are “no big deal….I’ll just pay it”, however, a guilty plea will go on your record during a background check. If you received a Non-Traffic Citation in Pennsylvania we will have one out of our team of lawyers, who is familiar with that particular court, who has been there before, represent you. The firm has defended thousands and thousands of satisfied clients.

Summary Offenses

Summary Offenses include harassment, disorderly conduct, bad checks, and retail theft.  A conviction of a Summary Offense is punishable by no more than 90 days in jail and/or a fine generally not more than $300 (more in some cases).  Because this is the lowest level type crime a lot of people think these offenses are “no big deal….I’ll just pay it”, however, a guilty plea will go on your record during a background check. If you received a Non-Traffic Citation in Pennsylvania we will have one out of our team of lawyers, who is familiar with that particular court, who has been there before, represent you. The firm has defended thousands and thousands of satisfied clients.

Testimonials

My first experience with the attorney’s help in dealing with the traffic case. I was kept informed promptly and for any questions/email was getting prompt response. They defended the case in a very professional manner and I do not have to wait at the court. They are prompt on time and very courteous.
Highly satisfied with the services
